About Trewornan Manor
The historic hamlet of Trewornan lies on the North bank of the River Amble which runs from the village of Chapel Amble to the beautiful River Camel. Trewornan Manor is believed to be one of the oldest properties in the county, and indeed within the country. It was originally one of the key residences within North Cornwall, the earliest records we have found so far date the house to around 1211. The house now sits in 25 acres of mature gardens, woodland and pasture.
Trewornan History
We opened Trewornan Manor as a boutique B&B in 2015. Prior to this, the house was a private family home. We look to provide our guests with a relaxing stay in a comfortable and contemporary environment. We have 7 en-suite rooms, 5 in the main house and 2 in an adjoining annexe accessed from our courtyard. Each bedroom has full central heating, an emperor sized bed, and views over the gardens or courtyard. All our rooms are available as a twin room if required. Our three largest rooms, Finisterre, Porthilly and Daymer, also have free standing baths in the en-suites in addition to a separate walk-in shower. In 2023 we opened our first self-catering cottage. The Boat Store, a bright and spacious one bedroomed cottage situated to the rear of the manor with far reaching views towards the estuary.
We believe our location makes us the ideal get away for your break. We are conveniently situated just one mile outside the popular town of Wadebridge. Rock and Polzeath are all a short drive away, with Padstow and Port Issac both around a 15 minute drive. We offer direct access to the countryside with a public footpath running across our fields, which, should you choose, takes you to Walmsley Bird Sanctuary and our nearest local village just a 20 minute walk gets you to Chapel Amble and the ever popular Maltsters Pub.
